A Congregation of the
Free Church of Scotland
Portree Free Church
Rev Donald G Macdonald
Free Church Manse,
Isle of Skye
Sunday Services: 11 am and 6.00 pm at Portree Primary School.
Our 'core activity' as a church is the worship of God. In our worship we keep things simple; we focus on praise, prayer, and preaching. In our praise we sing psalms. Prayer at our Sunday services is usually led by the person preaching that day. The message lasts about 20-25mins and is always Bible based.
We always have a children's talk during the morning service. In the evening there are 'Brain Boxer' worksheets for the children to help them follow the service.
Prayer Meeting: Wednesday 7.30 pm at Portree Primary School
We believe that God hears and answers prayer. Every week we meet for prayer but we also encourage informal times of prayer and private prayer.
Prayer Triplets: At the moment a network of prayer triplets is being established to ensure that every area of need is prayed for.
Ladies Bible Study: Every second Thursday morning at various homes.
At the Ladies Bible Study, a number of women get together in each others houses to talk about the Bible. At the moment they are working through the book of James.
Mens Meeting: Every third Friday evening at the manse.
Not to be out done, the men also meet informally for fellowship. The mens' meetings tend to be more topic led and the Bible's teaching is related to current issues and events.

Pastoral Visitation Teams: This is also being developed at the moment to ensure that anyone who is sick or housebound are cared for.
Chaplaincy work: The minister is involved in both the Primary School and the High School as a School Chaplain. He is also the Chaplain to Portree Hospital.
This is our typical congregational fellowship on a Sunday morning.
